Target are working with Hope University to help develop out-of-hours school provision across Merseyside. We are developing a new way forward that will give schools the opportunity to develop their own “wrap-around” care provision. Utilising the skills and expertise of Hope University and Target staff and the enthusiasm, eagerness and energy of Hope students we aim to help schools extend their hours beyond the school norm.
This is far more than the usual after hours clubs that schools often provide. We can provide after-school clubs in such areas as Sports, Music, Arts, Drama, Computers and Technology. These activities are carefully tailored to each school's individual needs: they can be custom designed and altered seasonally. They can compliment a school's existing provision or provide opportunities that a school cannot because of the demands of the teaching day. The staff running these clubs are all experienced and qualified in their areas but the emphasis of these clubs is more on the fun and social side rather than the academic. We have found that a combination of teachers, students and non-teachers can often provide the change of pace, style and communication that makes after school provision a total change from the rigours of the school day. Students who work with us on these exciting new projects are closely monitored and supervised. |
